On Sept. 10, 2016, Life Care Center of Auburn, Massachusetts, said “thank you” in a big way to first responders in the community.
The facility hosted a cookout luncheon and an outdoor carnival for local police, firefighters, EMS workers and other civil servants. The entry was decorated with blue ribbons, and the first responders enjoyed a free meal and the chance to visit with residents and associates.
Community members, from adults to kids, also came by for lunch and entertainment. A DJ spun tunes, and the children had fun with a bounce house, face painting, a clown and interactive games.
“It was wonderful to see so many people, and luckily it rained early so we had beautiful weather all afternoon,” said Carrie Cross, admissions and marketing director. “Everyone had a blast, and we have had requests to do it again next year.”
